The Journal of Crop Science Research in Arid Regions kindly requests all authors to carefully review and adhere to the following guidelines and instructions when preparing their manuscripts. Given that the journal is currently undergoing indexing processes in reputable national and international databases, any manuscript that fails to meet the criteria below will be rejected prior to the peer-review process. No action will be taken on submissions until all requirements are fully satisfied.
Types of Acceptable Manuscripts
- Research Articles: These consist of papers presenting original results from a novel research project. Authors must collect original data using precise and valid scientific methods, analyze their findings, and present their scientific observations and results.
- Review Articles: These include papers that provide a specialized review of current global scientific literature related to the journal's scope. Such articles must be authored by experts and prominent figures in the respective field to be eligible for peer review.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word 2007 or higher. The page setup should be A4 with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides, in a single-column format with 1.15 line spacing.
All Persian text must be in B Nazanin font. The title should be Size 14 Bold, and the main body should be Size 13 Normal. Main headings (Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, etc.) should be Size 13 Bold.
- Tables and Figures: Titles should be Size 9 Bold and centered. Data within tables should be Size 9 Normal. (For English words in titles or table data, use Size 8).
- Non-Persian Names: Use Times New Roman, Size 11 for English names/terms within the text.
Author Specifications and Metadata
The manuscript title, full names of authors, affiliations (including academic rank and department/institution), email addresses, postal addresses, and the corresponding author's phone number must be accurately provided on a separate cover page in both Persian and English. A scanned copy of the signed Conflict of Interest and Commitment Form must also be uploaded.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should generally include the following sections:
- Title: Must be brief, clear, and descriptive of the research. Maximum length is 20 words.
- Abstract: A concise summary of the article, not exceeding 250 words. The first sentence should state the necessity and objectives; the second should specify the location and time of the study.
- Keywords: Provide 4 to 6 words that assist in indexing. Keywords should not repeat words from the title and must be arranged alphabetically.
- Introduction: Should define the subject, state the importance of the topic, review the literature, and present the hypotheses and objectives. Scientific names must be italicized. Proper punctuation and paragraphing are mandatory. The final paragraph must clearly explain the innovation, necessity, and specific objectives of the research.
- Materials and Methods: Must clearly describe the experimental site, materials, and techniques used. If a method is established, citing the reference is sufficient. Specify the equipment used, seed sources, and planting/harvesting dates. Formulas and equations must be numbered sequentially. Avoid phrases like "the following formula."
- Results and Discussion: These sections should be combined. Results may be presented via tables, figures, or photos, but duplicate presentation (e.g., presenting the same data in both a table and a figure) is prohibited.
- Formatting Tables: Titles go above the table; figure titles go below. Both must be provided in Persian and English.
- Bilingual Format: All labels, headers, and descriptions in tables/figures must be in both languages. Use English numerals for all data. English translations should be placed directly under the Persian text within the same cell.
- Units: Units must be written in English only.
- Alignment: Tables must be aligned left-to-right. Borders around figures must be removed.
- Quality: Do not send tables/charts as images. Photos/lab results must be high resolution (300 dpi).
- Conclusion: This should be a separate paragraph at the end, independent of the Results and Discussion.
- Acknowledgments: Acknowledge any scientific, financial, or technical support from individuals or organizations.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or professional relationships that could influence the research. If none exist, use the statement: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article."
References
Citations within the text should be placed in parentheses at the end of the sentence (Author, Year). Even for Persian references, use the English equivalent of the author's name and the publication year. Avoid starting sentences with author names.
- Format: All references must be listed alphabetically in English.
- Persian references: Translate Persian titles and journal names into English (refer to the original journal's English website). Add [In Persian] at the end in brackets.
- DOIs/DORs: Include the DOI or DOR link at the end of each reference.
